Altria to Launch “Mark Ten” E-Cigarette
We’ve got some new details about the upcoming e-cigarette to be marketed my Altria, maker of Marlboro cigarettes and the largest tobacco company in the U.S.
Named the “Mark Ten,” the electronic cigarette will be sold by Altria subsidiary NuMark. The initial launch will be in Indiana, to be followed by a nationwide expansion.
The Mark Ten will be disposable, but can also be reused buy buying a separate battery charging kit and pre-filled cartridges. It will be made in China by a third-party manufacturer, and include regulating circuitry to provide consistent output. The Mark Ten is expected to sell for $9.50, with no pricing announced for the charger or cartridges.
Altria also plans to expand the sales region for its Verve line of chewables, from an initial base of 60 stores to 1,200 stores throughout Virginia, and will be launching a line of tobacco-based gum named “Tju” in Denmark this summer.
