CASAA Spreads the Word: Study Shows E-Cigs Are Safer
A study performed by Professor Igor Burstyn of the Drexel University School of Public Health, funded by The Consumer Advocates for Smoke-free Alternatives (CASAA), recently found minimal health effects from the use of electronic cigarettes, and no negative health risks to bystanders. While this news was first announced last week, CASAA has been working hard to get the word out.
“This is exactly the type of science that is needed to make good regulation and informed individual decisions: it summarizes all of the available knowledge and puts the numbers in a useful perspective.”
-Carl Phillips, CASAA Scientific Director
Today, Convenience Store Decisions, a publication very influential with convenience stores who carry electronic cigarettes, published a summary of the findings.
We greatly appreciate CASAA’s efforts not just in sponsoring the study, but in getting the word out that electronic cigarettes truly are a safer alternative to smoking, not just for smokers, but for those around them as well.
A full technical report of the study can be found in PDF form at the Drexel University website.
