No Vaping for Twins Fans

As a sort of counterpoint to our earlier story about the Welsh soccer team that sold its stadium naming rights to electronic cigarette manufacturer Cigg-E, Target Field, home of the Minnesota Twins, has banned vaping from the venue.

“Because of the proliferation of [vaping], we want to make it crystal clear that Target Field is a non-smoking venue of any kind.”
-Kevin Smith, Senior Director of Communications, Minnesota Twins

In response to a growing number of fans being spotted in the stands with their e-cigs, an addition has been made to the pre-game announcements to make it clear that electronic cigarettes are included in the stadium’s no-smoking policy.

Perhaps the highlight of the article: the last line. “In California, they’re known as ‘personal vaporizers,’ or PVs.” Those crazy Californians.
