Weekly Co-Op Update for June 19, 2013
Yeah, I know what you’re thinking. Every week this update seems to slip a little later. But we have a good reason! We’re in mourning. We’re all devastated by the passing of the ongoing Youde co-op at Canada’s Whacked Out E-Cigarettes, which has been holding a special place near the bottom of the co-op tracker list since we started it. This one’s for you, Dredd — may you go on to even bigger and better things. The AGAs and IGOs were lucky to have you.
On a happier note, there’s still a lot of stuff out there to be had. Maybe too much this week.
When you’re done here, be sure to check out the Co-Op Tracker for links, pricing, and other details.
The list of mods available in the last week exploded, mostly due to a list posted at Facebook’s Legit Group Buys that contained practically every Pinoy mod imaginable, among other things. While we admit to some skepticism on this one, we added the items to the tracker anyway, tagged with “Vape Product List.” Group buys are, after all, a gamble, and we figured we’d give this one the benefit of the doubt. However, it’s no been a week since there were any updates, and it’s starting to look like this one may be dead in the water. If it really is legit, there’s some great stuff on the list, though the prices aren’t anything too special. Something may come of it eventually, but we’re not holding our breath.
If Pinoy mods are your thing, though, there are plenty others to be had from group buys that actually seem to be more than just a list of hypothetical items. The highly regarded Kato Mods Astro, for example, makes its first showing on our Tracker. We can tell you from personal experience with the Astro that it’s a gorgeous mod, though not without its flaws. One we’d recommend more highly would be the Madz Modz NZonic, which is a few bucks cheaper in the same group, and we found it to be a better mod overall. There’s also the new Eveon mod from Team Hotwire, the group that brought us the Pistola.
From the bargain bin containing the Chinese mods, there’s a pretty full selection this week. EHPro’s EA Mod clone makes a debut this week, rounding out a selection that also includes SmokTech E-Pipe, Natural, and their Winder eGo-style battery.
And, for the love of God, go get yourself a Rainbow Heaven MKB-TS. That one’s still open, and it’s driving us crazy that a buy for a mod that good could still be open after this long.
In addition to the atomizers in the dubious list-of-everything mentioned above, there is a metric crapload of attys to choose from this week. Choices start from cartomizers and tanks courtesy of Bucky, master of all things Boge, then work their way up through a selection of Kanger clearomizers that includes the EVOD, ProTank, and the latest incarnation of Kanger’s T3 clearo with a new coil configuration, the T3S.
Discounted RSSTs make another appearance this week, as does the very well-built Terminator-C Odysseus clone, a somewhat rare find in recent co-ops.
On the somewhat higher end, a few people have dropped out of the buy for the 510 version of the QZI Megatron Genesis, so it’s opened back up to let a few more people place orders. Grand Vapor’s Trident dripper is also still available from a buy running simultaneously in the U.S. and Canada, though it’s looking like it won’t be there for long, as that buy is filling up quickly.
The Other Stuff
It may still be possible to get Efest batteries cheap through a group buy on the Rebuildable E-Cigs Forum — while the order form is no longer open, it does look there may be spares than can be picked up at co-op prices when they arrive.
There’s also a multi-national buy going on for the BBDT v2 drip tip from the Philippines. It’s not exactly cheap, but it’s sure pretty.
Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’re really wrecked over this whole thing with that Canadian Youde co-op. I think we just need some time alone.
